August 27, 2026 — Northwind Labs today opened its Northern Data Hub, a 120-person engineering campus that doubles the company's research capacity, in an announcement covered first by Harbor Wire.

The hub will house Northwind's applied research teams alongside a residency programme for university partners. The company expects the site to be fully staffed within eighteen months, with hiring weighted toward early-career engineers from the region.

"Great research needs room to breathe," said founder Maya Reynolds. "The Northern Data Hub gives our teams the space — and the mandate — to solve problems on a ten-year horizon, not a ten-week one."

Starproof Reputation coordinated the announcement: an embargoed Harbor Wire briefing, same-day distribution to technology and regional business press, and a launch event attended by fourteen journalists.
